Hmm.. I participated the UAE Nationals sometime in 2002, and the total player count was 15. Top 3 were eligable for a spot at Worlds Australia... and Top 8 were eligible for Euro Invitational. www.sargona.ru/games/mtg/ec/InvEuro.pdfI'm not sure the rules have changed in terms of Nationals/Regionals.

It looks like rules have changed. The countries that allow all entries without being qualified get only one player invited to Worlds, that's the National Champ....so there'll be no UAE team even if we get a Nationals.
For example... this is off the Indonesia page
Bolded for relevence

Sorry to pee on everyones bonfire but here is the official response from WOTC -Belgium
Hello Derek, At this time, your number of players are still very low, even though you had some extras in the past events. 18 players is still below the European average for a Prerelease. With more players, you might get to run Grand Prix Trials (increased kvalue event). I think you need more locations where people can play if you plan on growing much at all. National Qualifiers are run from April to September in Europe, we dont have any specific date. Requesting a specific kvalue is not possible however. That's why I referred to a Grand Prix Trial (kvalue 24) if you can manage to get more players. Keep me informed on how the playerbase is doing ok? -Tom

I don't agree! The problem is not to have enough players or not. With a little finesse we might very well be able to organise Nats. The first step, as mentioned by Tom in the above letter, would be to organise tournaments with higher K-Value, which would qualify us for requesting Nats and sending one of our players to worlds. The tournaments organised at the moment are of these types: - kvalue 8: these are Friday Night Magic, when they are sanctioned (8 players required) - kvalue 16: all other tournaments usually organised (no other rules than having 8 players) What we need to get to is a kvalue 24 tournament - which requires the following: - 16 players minimum - a Certified Judge Level1 or higher using a minimum of REL2 (rules enforcement level) - use deck verification procedures (submit written decklist and enforcing deck checks) --> we have 16+ players once a month --> we have a Level1 judge (at least i remember someone saying something about it) - maybe zak? --> we can easily enforce decklist & deck checking (deck swapping for sealed ) Let's hold that 24k once a month for the next 2 months and let's hold Nats in beginning of september. What are we waiting for?

although i can't fully understand what's happening really, why not we organise that grand prix trials first. as the man said.. higher kvalue tourneys first.. step by step..and they're running nats upto september so we can buzzer-beat this thing.
