To Answer CTTC, best give noxy admin rites to update the calendar with his events and Kangor for the other stuff.
Anyway according to the DCI site this Thursday's game is Extended with next Thursday's being Standard.
Once Olivier's events on Tuesday and Saturday are posted on the calendar this should be good enough to keep people happy for the foreseable.
BTW I still have 3 Eventide Fat packs, plus some Eventide and Shadowmoor boosters available for sale and could even run a Lorwyn Morningtide Sealed event for 12 people if the interest is there. Let me know and we'll see if that could be squeezed in this Saturday or next.

As WOTC didn't give us any release cards can you chase them up for some then perhaps we can run the release before I leave.

In addition to the generous prize payout I have just sanctioned it with wizards so come one, come all for some serious drafting fun.

While it sounds great to play midweek we've tried that before on a couple of occaisions and after the initial novelty wears off we'd struggle to get players to come due to family or work commitments.
However if it's a once a month thing then that might work but in all fairness for most it will still be either a flat no or a struggle to attend due to work the next day.
I for one have enough to do through the week that I'd not be able to attend.

That is correct and stretches further back than just 9th.
For instance if you had some of the original Treetop villages from Urzas Legacy you can use them now because of the reprint in Tenth.
Likewise any cards that have been reprinted in the current standard list of Cold Snap, Timesprial block, Lorwyn block may be used like Browbeat from Judgement as it was reprinted as a timeshifted purple in Timespiral.

Sorry to pee on everyones bonfire but here is the official response from WOTC -Belgium
Hello Derek, At this time, your number of players are still very low, even though you had some extras in the past events. 18 players is still below the European average for a Prerelease. With more players, you might get to run Grand Prix Trials (increased kvalue event). I think you need more locations where people can play if you plan on growing much at all. National Qualifiers are run from April to September in Europe, we dont have any specific date. Requesting a specific kvalue is not possible however. That's why I referred to a Grand Prix Trial (kvalue 24) if you can manage to get more players. Keep me informed on how the playerbase is doing ok? -Tom

Cheers Oscar and welcome. Your suggestions are noted, however I think we have covered both items already on the forum, the events are listed on the calendar option at top of screen between members and admin and the introduce yourself thread is where others have posted to say Hi etc.
But nevermind heh, glad you could join us and be an active part of the group.

Friday or Saturday is the question people, please vote on the new thread so we can see which day suits best.
Nah lets not, how abouts we skip that and have both Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th as our regionals here in the UAE.
Each day will be a separate competition and hopefully give you more flexibilty for your other commitments and if you can play on both days, fanastic.
Only request is that we have a sign up sheet for both days and if we do not reach 8 players for that day it will not be sanctioned but can still go ahead for the sheer hell of it under the Gateway program.
For ease of editing the Sign up sheet please PM me and I'll do the necessary.

Sorry that you have come down with Pox dude. Please stay away until you are better.
For everyone else many thanks for the great turnout yesterday, I'm sure we all had a blast to have so many players for a change.
As to the reults, here you go and a big congrats goes out to Akin for a well deserved win.
TOP 4
AKIN - WINNER GLENN - BEATEN FINALIST TREVOR - LOSING SEMI FINALIST KIM - LOSING SEMI FINALIST
As to the rest of the top 8 they were
PAUL ZAK STANLEY DAVE
Again well done to the above and everyone else too for an enjoyable day.
Let's see if we can emulate the attendance for the next event which will be on Saturday 14th June for the "unofficial" UAE regionals.

I just thought Friday would be easier for everyone to attend. If I'm wrong tell me and we'll take a vote on it, unfortnately you'll never please everyone all the time.

Looks all good CtoC but we didn't know about this player base at the time we needed to request for regionals this year, at the time we were struggling to get 8 on a regular basis.
We'll monitor attendance over the next month or so and then see what we can request for in the future.
So guys it's all in your hands to continue to show up at least twice a month to make this level of competition possible.
As to CtoC's other suggestion, right on dude let's make it happen- Free play will be moved to the following week and Friday June 13th will be the unoffical UAE regionals -so book the weekend with those who must be obeyed and lets get another grand turn out.
Entrance to be AED 50.00 for some sweet prizes. If we get 20 players I'll put up my Foil Tarmogoyf as part of the First prize!!! Location to be Confirmed but probably Rydges Plaza Time: 2pm to 9pm.
For those new to the Group it would be a good opportunity to make a friend tomorrow and ask if they have a spare deck you can borrow, honestly most of us won't mind.

I can now confirm that the timings will be as previously advised, so don't be late.
The Rydges have also been pre warned and are expecting the invasion as it's looking like we might hit 25 players.
So with this in mind it will mean that after round 3 the top 4 will split off and battle it out for the major spoils whilst the rest will continue to play for pride, enjoyment and places 5 to 8 which will also attract prizes.

Saturday's games for June are now up on the calender for reference and please note the option of the Free play day to give everyone the option of playing their favorite format or trying something new.
So dust of those extended and vintage decks, try your hand at the 5 colour magic experience, get together to have a mini-masters fest or all of the above.
We can even get sanctioning and DCI points under the Gateway umbrella and fill up those cards.
